If you think you will accomplish anything by publicly posting Nick's cell phone number, you are dead wrong. What some have called some sort of "master plan" to own the IAQ industry is simply a plan to give NACHI home inspectors a crack at learning and offering ancillary services such as IAQ.
Your employer may not understand the IAC2 is for NACHI members who offer such services. It is certainly not an attempt to dominate the field and take away your livelihood.
As others have said, take it up with your employer. There are other IAQ organizations to join that don't require membership in another organization. another option is to give joining NACHI a shot. You can do ALL the membership requirements (including 30, 45, 6 month requirements) before applying and paying.
It might not hurt knowing a lot about the HI industry and having access to al lot of IAQ discussions that are in the "members only" area.
Lastly, you could ask a NACHI member to intercede and see if you can get an affiliate membership. I don't know if Nick would do that but I know he is an extremely busy man and it might take a NACHI member who has regular contact with him to run it by him.
