I had been working the ASHI booth, meeting, greeting and selling ASHI merchandise for hours. This was during a lull when the attendees were in the educational sessions, the exhibit hall was fairly empty. Frank and Nick had just returned from a run to a local Dunkin Donuts shop for coffee and mammoth apple fritters. We had all just finished eating, talking and just having a good time with the other vendors during the lull.
Many pictures were taken, it was like folks were trying to immortalize this moment in history. This picture is nothing more than what it is, a picture. I don't think it was difficult for any of us to have this picture taken, we are all adults and we all have made commitments and sacrifices to the profession. It is always best to take the high road and to learn from past mistakes, be those that you have made or those of others.
We all had a good time at the conference, met new inspectors and enrolled several into ASHI. NAHI and GAHI (Georgia Association of Home Inspectors) were in attendance as well. I would expect that based on that this was the first year for this conference that it will become on of the major educational events in the profession
