Wait a minute. This is a home inspector's website. What do you expect for a H.I. to tell you? "Yep, there's certainly gaps and shrinkage".

Unless one were to have specific experience/knowledge of vinyl flooring they'd only be guessing as to the cause of the problem.

How about you call a qualified installer, or even better still, a manufacturer's rep?
