Why NACHI does not offer State CE courses at their conference
This was sent to me and it is from the horses mouth as to why InterNACHI does not provide state CE sessions at their conference. Makes no sense to me other than being an excuse for not wanting to spend the time and money to get them approved. Many need their CE hours for state licenses so make sure that if you are attending an event that it is approved in your state.

Re: Convention?

I'm very hesitant to offer state approved courses at any of our conventions. I avoided approved education last year and, like other years, the unapproved courses are the most popular by far. NACHI Convention 2007 Photos | Member-Submitted Photos Let's face it, it doesn't make sense to travel all the way to a convention to re-learn plumbing 101 again.

The 2008 Convention will be no different with courses in business success, mold, infrared cameras, SEO, limiting liability, commercial inspections, marketing, green building, MoveInCertified, website critiquing, etc.

These types of course are generally (with a few exceptions, we got our commercial inspection course approved in Texas and our Infrared course approved in IL) NOT approved by states for continuing education due to the fact that they are far outside the Standards of Practice.

... and that is exactly why I like them... and that is exactly why they are so popular... and that is exactly why we'll be offering them (instead of plumbing 101 courses) at our Conventions again.

Our conventions are cutting edge, exciting and offer stuff you simply can't get anywhere else.
