Hello Gents:
I’m on board with Gunnar. It is probably lime, and I too have seen it spread after a sewerage leak.
My opinion: BAD IDEA!
Fascinating to think that homeowners freak out upon learning of the presence of harmless mould in their crawler, but don’t seem to be bothered about the presence of a particularly nasty compound (calcium hydroxide). Whereas I would not necessarily recommend the removal of mould from a crawlspace, I would definitely recommend abatement of this hazardous material from a crawlspace.
But that’s just me. Others may disagree!
Cheers!
