When I view assessors' sites, a lot of them say "residential" or "standard" or the ever-popular "multi-family". My online report fields only have certain types: cape, colonial, condo, ranch, etc . . . so, I usually just choose 2-story or whatever is closest and let the reviewers hash it out. Thanks in advance. A good text book would be best. I like and use a book called "Modern Carpentry" by Willis Wagner and Howard "Bud" Smith published by Goodheart-Wilcox Company 2003 ISBN#1-59070-202-6. I bought a copy from Barnes & Noble online a few years back for around $60.

It is a great book and will have just about everything you are looking for.
