The 'old standard' (no code) was 30" high vanity cabinets, the 'new standard' seems to be 36" high vanity cabinets.

36" high is a bit high for kids, but works out better for adults.

Many hall bathrooms use 30" high for the kids (unless the kids have their own bathrooms) and 36" high in the master bathroom.

Ours is the same way, the original 30" in the hall bathroom and a new 36" high one in the master.
