Foiled Paper in crawl space
Inspected a 1969 house yesterday that had a foiled paper attached to the joists in the crawl space. There was a layer of brown paper, then a layer of kraft paper with a aluminum type foil attached to it. The alumimum side was facing down into the crawl space. The area between the joists was not insulated. I have seen this in older homes in the attic but never in a crawl space. How would you write this up and what exactly is it?
Also, are there not suppose to be electrical outlets on a center island in the kitchen? The island was an added addition and was not part of the original house.
Thanks,
Jim
