I inspected a one year old house today and found a very similar set-up attached to a water softening system in the garage. Photos 1-2. So back to "Dead on" I guess.
I have seen plenty of softener installs but not with this particular set-up.
This one today even had the hose bib and all just like the other.
Todays inspection also had this nice support sytem for a 65 gallon water heater and furnace/evaporator coil combo in a second floor closet! See photo 3. Needless to say, the deck they were resting on was sagging a bit.
