Where else can that information be found? I looked in the International Gas Fuel Code book and I can't find anything that talks about the 3 foot clearance requirement. The local gas company enforces it but I cannot find where they get this information. It has to be available to the contractors or how else are they suppose to understand what is and is not allowed.
Note: Most heating companies don't know about any clearance requirement.
