Strike Plate Problem

This strike plate appeared to be slightly misaligned. For that matter, the door to go along with it seemed to be missing.

Suggestions? ;)

Well ... Duh! They forgot to mortise the strike plate into the jamb!

My guess is that an over zealous plumber cut the door out with his saws-all to make room for the drain pipe. :D
