I assume that these baffles must be listed (like some rigid foam insulating materials) for exposed installation in such locations, just wondering if anyone knows if this is the case, or if this is ever an issue?

I have never heard of it being an issue. All they are made from is EPS foam (extruded polystyrene foam) and this can be found in many building products. I would bet that the wood around it would have a lower flashpoint than the foam.

Hummm, I did a quick little Google search and found that the flashpoint for EPS is between 600-650 and that Wood has a flashpoint of 550-580 depending on species. I'm sure both have many variables.

Never said what I would bet! :D

So.. why are these not an issue when exposed foam insulation (most types) is?
