Is there an NEC citation for the removal of abandoned or discontinued NM cables from main distribution or remote panelboards?

I did not:( find anything. Only references cables installed under chapter 6, 7 and 8.

None for NM cables. Only for low voltage Class 2 and similar circuits (unless tagged and labeled for future use).
