Inspectors in Houston are telling me that people calling for thermal
imaging has gone up in the last year... from approx. 3 calls a month,
to over 30 calls a month (all of this without even offering the IR service).

Some have started sharing cameras to lower the cost. We have also
been hearing that energy audits are in demand all over the place in the
U.S. and Canada... and IR is playing a major factor in this emerging market.

Canada now requires a license to do enery audits and many of them
are using IR to supply a superior service. With the rising cost of
utility bills I can see this the demand for this kind of service growing.

Oh.....and how about that. You just so happen to provide IR training. What a coincidence.

I don't know where you get your information about Canada but as usual its incorrect. One does not have to be licenced to do energy audits. One must be qualified to do them by taking a course because government rebates are involved.

IR has been so over hyped by you in order to fill your courses, that many are now selling their cameras or not purchasing.

I'm in Houston, no one has been calling me for thermal imaging. At some point I may get an IR camera, but I am going to try and keep that type of service totally separate from a TREC home inspection. Truth is, most people think it sounds like a great idea, until they find out they have to pay extra for the service.

With BO's upcoming energy initiative, I suspect that energy evaluations are going to pick up some. What I read in his policy though, he is really pushing this on commercial/govt buildings and on low income people.

Im not really interested in working in the 'hood.

I worked in the hood the other day when it was still pretty cold. I had that hood up over my head to keep my ears warm:)
