My question is - are these sufficient supports for 100 amp services? If they were 200 amp, for instance, would 2X10s be needed? Maybe a S.E. should be called for "further evaluation"?

oh gosh those two post should be painted with fire proof paint, set 48 inches into the ground and there should be a fire stop halfway up, plus a outdoor smoke detector with a water fountain nearby for a drink of cool water;) :D

John, I hope you also mentioned that those 2x4s should be GFI 2x4s due to the exterior installation.
