As reported by a Richmond, BC newspaper article "Asbestos in the walls (http://www.bclocalnews.com/richmond_southdelta/richmondreview/news/37742514.html)" , many Canadian residents worry about the removal cost of vermiculite insulation in their attic.

In September 2008, the manufacturer of vermiculite insulation, W.R. Grace (http://www.grace.com/About/EHS/Libby/Zonolite.aspx) offered a $6.5M settlement (http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2008/09/11/zonolite-lawsuit.html?ref=rss) to Canadians whose homes now sit contaminated with the "Zonolite" insulation. The deadline for filing a claim on that settlement (http://www.graceclaims.com/ (http://www.graceclaims.com/)) is Aug. 31, 2009.
