For some reason the expansion tank on this boiler system is located in the crawl space. There was plenty of room at the boiler. At one point in time I read that the expansion tank should be above the boiler, but then I think I also read that it didn't really matter where it was located.
Does it matter if it is below the boiler? I sure wouldn't want it in the crawl space, but that was the least of the problems at this place. Actually, the place wasn't too bad, but there were some pretty goofy things.
