Hello!
I am just starting the journey into home inspections and I'm at currently at 'square one'.
I'm new to the industry of home inspections but have over six years experience as a risk control consultant and I perform inspections at commercial and industrial facilities for insurance purposes, so I believe I've had exposure to a number of the skills that are crucial for a home inspector.
I realize; however, that the principles that apply to industrial facilities are very different from residential dwellings so I will be taking some training courses prior to inspecting any homes, with the intent to eventually become a Certified Home Inspector (through CAHPI).
Does anyone have any feedback as to a good 'home study' or online program (I work full time and cannot take day classes - and even night classes would be difficult to fit into my schedule).
I'm looking at potentially taking AHIT's $1,000 home study/on-line course. . . what else might be out there????
I'd appreciate any suggestions or feedback!
Cheers!
Ian
