When is generally the last year(s) that fibrous (Masonite-type) siding was used?

DE: The last date included in the class action suit was May of 2000.

You think a class action law suit stops manufacturers from producing stuff like that? :)

Are you sure it is not still available?

JP: That's not what I said, or believe, for that matter.

JP: I haven't seen it installed in years.

LP "SmartSide" looks like an updated version of their previous siding. I would guess that various forms of fiber or OSB siding are still available.

GA: SmartSide is OSB with veneer. A pig with lipstick. For the word hounds out there, the whole hardboard siding problem revolved around "edge welt". One can only wonder what the detrimental issue will be with SmartSide.

I thought that was what Inner-Seal was. OSB with a resin paper over the face.
