This is a sawdust looking insulation, held against the roof decking by plastic sheeting. The sheeting was sliced once in each rafter bay - presumably for some air ventilation and/or moisture venting. This is in an attic of a condo about 50 yards from the gulf of mexico - very humid environment - no other insulation. I am not familiar with it and have not encountered it before - any thoughts, facts, etc. I doubt that it is good for the roof decking.

The picture is not showing up. I'm getting nothing but the dreaded red X.

Sorry - I never have any luck trying to put pics in here. What causes that red x?

Probably the file was corrupt, too large, wrong type, or for some reason did not upload properly.

Whatever it is was almost assuredly done incorrectly as I know of nothing which is supposed to be, allowed to be, installed like that.
