This is a sawdust looking insulation, held against the roof decking by plastic sheeting. The sheeting was sliced once in each rafter bay - presumably for some air ventilation and/or moisture venting. This is in an attic of a condo about 50 yards from the gulf of mexico - very humid environment - no other insulation. I am not familiar with it and have not encountered it before - any thoughts, facts, etc. I doubt that it is good for the roof decking.
