See all the time with a hose clamp.

However, that drain line does not have a "high drain loop" as needed.

Rich,

Nice diagram. Illinois in their infinite wisdom does not allow dishwashers to discharge into disposers. Concern is that the disposer could force waste back into the dishwasher.

Our dishwasher here at home has no loop AND runs into the disposer. I'm very defiant and will likely die a horrible and meaningless death as a result of dishwasher poisoning.

It is tres gross when it happens; siphoning, not death.

Well, it appears that it has leaked before, so I would say no. The discharge line coupling is too large for the extension tube nipple. A rigid reducing coupling should be added, along with a smaller Fernco coupling, so that the coupling is properly sized for the extension tube nipple. The visible corrosion suggests that this fitting, as currently installed, weeps from time to time, and will eventually fail. If the nipple were to rot off the extension tube, and one were to cycle the dishwasher, it could get really interesting.
