How long has this code been in place. Anyone have a ballpark idea.

Thanks

Mat,

On something like that, "how long" the code has not allowed that does not matter, "safety issues" cannot read code books to find out when it is allowed to kill people and when it no longer is allowed to do so - they just kill the people and let the attorneys read the code books to figure out who to sue.

Just write it up as being "dumb and dumber" and "have casket nearby to fall into". ;)

Jerry,
Oh it was written up but I was just curious when the NEC or IRC specifically addressed the issue. The home was built in 1989 but this was in the basement which they say was finished during original contruction, but I am a non believer. The toilet was manufactured 2001. So you were inspects homes in those days, any thoughts:)

I was just too lazy at first to get up and go look it up. :(

1993 is when that first came into the NEC. :)
