Still just sitting here watching the float bob on top of the water. No bites yet. Paint drying is a bit more interesting . . .

Well, It has always been a bad idea but they keep on keeping on using it. Many builders have at least became aware that there is such a thing as concrete fiber trim such as hardi products. In the south I see nothing wrong with hardi trim but up north I have seen pictures where it gets wet and freezes and eventually get destoyed when used in such locations.

What do I think of untreated wood in the drainage plane. Not a good idea but it gives you something to write up from time to time.

Ho-hum ... finally woke up from my long night's sleep ...

SOME of us have been busy all day, it appears. :D

"What do you say about untreated wood in ... " an area which will be in contact with moisture?

Dumb and dumber.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Who was the idiot who did that?

Jeez, someone just make it real hard to replace that piece now, but it will still be easier than replacing it later as Michael stated.

And don't spray that borate treatment garbage on it, replace it.

How is that for starters on things to say?

And what code does this violate?

At the very LEAST ...

The code of construction basics and common sense.

Even my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter knows that if you leave wood out in the rain it will get wet and yucky.

JP: That would be the Code of Hammurabi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_of_Hammurabi).

Aaron,

How high above finish grade will that be? Greater than 6 inches?

JP: Yes, but still . . .;)

I know, but if it was not 6 inches high above FINAL grade, then it would be a specifically stated CODE violation too ... :D
