These stairs on the outside could only be made wider by cutting into the garage door opening as well as the stairs in side. Or tearing the house apart to have an inset for the stairs

Jim,
I guess the paramedics could drag the body to the other end of the pool to pull it out of the water. Those stairs appear to block the access on the pool deck for the stretcher to place the body on.
Oh well.
