Black flex pipe in Carrier gas furance

There was a black flexible pipe dangleing inside a Carrier Model number: 58STA070, forced air gas furnance mounted in the crawlspace. My guess is it is for condensation and should proably be attached at both ends.

Can someone more familar with the inner plumbing of an HVAC help to explain the black pipes function. Can you confirm it is for condensation and should be attached to the black gromment to the right above the gloved finger?

That looks familiar, I think it is only used for vertical mounted units.

You should see two connected if its a high eff unit.

What does the caution tag wrapped around it say? The may clue you in on what it is for.

You will not find the answer in the 58ST installation manual. The 58 ST is a non-condensing furnace. You are looking at pictures of a condensing furnace.
The Black tube is for condensation from the inducer. When installed in a downflow orientation, it should be plugged, just like it is. This is a correct installation If the furnace was installed in an upflow position, it would be connected to the condensation drain, and the black tube (that looks the same, on other side of inducer housing) with the white stripe would be plugged.
