View Full Version : Is the copper elbow an approved fitting?

Came across a house that used PEX. I noticed that brass elbow connectors were used everywhere but at three locations. At these three locations they used connections that are copper elbows. Are these approved by the manufacturer? I looked up PEX connectors and couldn't find any copper elbows sold for this material.

KL: Not if it is Zurn PEX. They allow only brass or polymer fittings. The following apply, but I don't have copies of them:
ASTM F 1807
ASTM F 1960
ASTM F 1807
Maybe JP, or one of the ubiquitous wrench slingers on this forum can help further.

Not if it is Zurn PEX. They allow only brass or polymer fittings.
