25 year old house, the owner just had a brand new heat pump installed. Looks like they forgot something.
The guy renting the house was thinking of buying it and had me inspect it for him.

Geothermal or air source heat pump?

What do you think is missing?

Standard air source heat pump. The heat strips are missing. Not a problem is the temps never get below freezing, however, in my area they do.

New heat pump also meant new AHU too?

If not, maybe that was always missing?

AHU?????
Based on the breakers on the unit, I suspect the old unit had heat strips. I have never seen a heat pump in this area that did not have heat strips.

Apparently the owner bought the heat pump on-line, had it shipped somewhere close, brought it to the house, and hired someone else to install it.

AHU?????

AHU = Air Handler Unit

Inside unit where the blower is located.

Oops on the owner, then.
