Curtis,

Welcome aboard.

Now a question: What is a ...

???

JP: Please don't go down that road again. Not with this guy. He has all the right tickets and experience. Surely if anybody deserves to call himself a Master Inspector it is him. You are just jealous sitting there in your high retiree chair . . .:D

Aaron D. Miller, Certified Master Inspector:eek:

JP: Truth be known, you are just a bit upset that the designation did not exist before you bailed. And you are a lot upset because you did not think of it first!:D

I must say that I have never heard of a Master Board Certifed Inspector. From your site
The Master Inspector Certification Board, Inc. is not a trade association or not a membership level. It is a board test dedicated to testing and promoting compentant inspectors with excellence in the inspection industry.

I'm curious about the testing part?

SP: Another master inspector old-timer hesitant to wear the name?

Nope, I just give to many deposition during the year either for the defense of HI's or for the other side. A title like that could be damaging to a person that provides litigation support.

FYI, Nick offered me a free CMI membership along with a lifetime INACHI membership if I joined when he started it a few years back. I thought about it for a few seconds, and decided it was not in my benefit but more for Nicks benefit.

SP: Only if you are intimidated by attorneys.

That is not very often, but when you are on the stand and you are asked about the requirements for the CMI, ya got to tell the truth! :D

Strange indeed that with qualifications as noted that anyone would be sucked into feeling the need to buy a CMI. Too funny!

Welcome Curtis, we are a hard bunch...

Aaron,

Scott noticed the same thing.

I must say that I have never heard of a Master Board Certifed Inspector.

Neither Scott nor myself is talking about that CMI thing from over there, I have not heard of "Master Board Certified Inspector" before was asking about it.

Yes, he does seem to have the ticket and experience, still, though, I an curious as to what and where that ""Master Board Certified Inspector" is from.

8000 fee paid inspections, started in 1998, over 700 per year? Sounds reasonable.

I do not think he was saying the fee paid inspections were since 98.

I am not sure how long he has been doing fee paid inspections.

If it has been since 98 then I see a problem if they were only home inspections. I think the fee paid thing accounts for all types of inspections.

If it is 700 full home inspections then I would have a serious argument with that as no one could do 700 full home inspections per year in 11 years and do any real home inspection and report. 2 a day....7 days a week for 52 weeks.

I guess we would have to ask him.

Oh yeah

Aaron

There you go with the glassy eyes with someone with certs. Certs do not make a man. All those certs demand respect for the pain in the but getting them all. Auto respect for the man himself should not be automatic as you do not know the man in the slightest.

Respect comes hard.

Thats like saying.

"I am your father....You WILL respect me" Really dad...you must earn my respect by the man you are, not just because you are my father.

Hi...My name is Ted...and yours? My name is Dr. Miller. No I meant your real name...not what you went to school for. Well in that case my name is Aaron. Nice to meet you Aaron :)

Anyway

Welcome Curtis

In New York you have to pass a comprehensive State Board Test in all the codes as well as Geographic studies such as hydro carbons,Btex,Applied building science. It a little more than a tradesman entering a little school and getting your little certificate. Mr Patterson With a look a the top of your head you scratch it alot trying to remember anything. It Has Made you hairless!!!

But, you are in Atlanta not New York? What State Board is this under? It is not under the Home Inspector board, so which one is it?

Yep, I have that low maintenance hair style but I can't say its from scratching my head. ;)
