3/8" = 4 feet
1/2" = 6 feet
3/4" to 2" = 8 feet

The above is for horizontal or vertical where exposed. For concealed vertical runs, everything is 10 feet. For concealed horizontal runs ... not shown, so I would go back to the horizontal spacing of supports shown for exposed runs.

For steel pipe:
(From Table 415.1 in IRC.)
1/2" = 6 feet
3/4" or 1" = 8 feet
1-1/4" and larger = 10 feet horizontal
1-1/4" and larger = every floor vertical
