3 year old 5,500 sq ft home that is about 90% complete. House has been sitting dormant for three years because builder ran out of money.

NO: Good thing too. Would hate to see more of his work popping up everywhere.

I'm trying to post a more positive representation of houses in our area but that pesky thing called reality keeps getting in the way.

NO: Maybe they roll that one fine structure around from neighborhood to neighborhood, followed by the paparazzi from the chamber of commerce?

I wonder when the banks will start taking care of the all the real estate they own. In the past, most houses would go up in value some even while they sit empty but nowadays I don't think much of that will be occuring.

I went to check on a new (18 month old) vacant house the other day and talked with the builder, he said he had not even heard from the lender in a long time.

I've seen a lot of work being done to the local repos, cleaned , new paint, carpeting, appliances etc. [ I'm assuming by the banks] and the prices have gone up $20-30,000 in some areas over the past 4-5 months.
