Hello everyone, noone probably noticed that I have been gone awhile, I wasnt a huge poster. Anyway I left Colorado last year to get back to Florida. I had to take a "real job" for awhile anyway. By researching the Florida radon requirements, its not real clear what is required. From a State of Florida website it says the nearest place for training is in Alabama, but other sites have courses in Florida.
I took the NRPP/NEHA exam in Colorado about 4 years ago but did not renew my certification as it was not required in Colorado, it appears now that was not a good decision. Anyway does anyone doing this in Florida have a black and white answer about the easiest way to do this and where to get the training. I am in the Gainesville area now, but wont be starting a business until I make it back to SW Florida.

Any help would be appreciated.

Paul,

Contact Bill Levy: http://www.inspectionnews.net/home_inspection/members/william-levy.html

If anyone knows he should know.

However, there is not a lot of radon in Florida, so I would be cautious making that your main business.

Thanks Jerry, I hadnt planned on it being the whole business, just part of it. I know of a certain company in SW FL. that has done 5000 radon tests so far this year. I would not mind a piece of that.

Paul,
How long you in gainesville for? As Jerry said there is very little radon in FL. in the 5 years I have been here I have only been asked about radon 4 times. While there are a couple of pockets in this area, I am on the fence on weather it is be a benifit for the client of the home inspector just taking the money. http://radon.alachua.fl.us/images/GIFs/Radon_Florida.png
