I just inspected a home built in 2004 that appears to have a foundation made of concrete poured into a form making 2" x 6" concrete studs 19" apart formed continuously with a top section connecting all of the "studs". 2" blue ridged foam on the outside behind that I could not tell what they used for a sheathing and waterproof coating. On the inside, there was fiberglass batt in between the concrete studs with poly over that. Also a 1"x2" strip on the edge to allow for attachment of sheetrock or some wall finish material. Above grade on the outside there was a masonry looking shell up to the vinyl siding.

I have never seen this before. What do you call it? Any info would really help me understand it. Any links to other pages would be helpful. If any of you are familiar with this what is you opinion of it as it compares to other foundations?

Thanks!

You need to check the floor framing that runs parallel to the foundation; this is the area where the installation (usually) is wrong.

See the installation manual pg 29
