Is this acceptable to have a ground secured to the gas supply pipe for the furnace?
Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,
You cannot use a gas pipe as a ground. However, it might not be a ground, it looks more like it is bonded. There is a difference, and bonding the hot water, cold water and gas supply pipes is required. I generally see bonding clamps on the gas pipe adjacent to the gas meter, where the gas supply pipe enters the house (after the meter) or adjacent to the water heater.

Gunnar, I think you are correct. I think it is a bond. Thanks.

You also have clearance issues to combustible material (the plastic water piping) from the draft hood and the vent.
