View Full Version : Water Heater venting into B-vent

This water heater vents into the furnace B-vent. The water heater vent pipe is smaller than the T-connector seems to accept. They had some foil tape around the connection, but it was loose and not sealing anything. As you can see, there is a pretty good gap here, but I couldn't see thru into the vent.
Question is, is it possible this is properly sealed inside this connector, or is this an automatic issue?

It's crap, write it up to have a professional correct.

Ditto to what Jim said. They make connectors so that you don't have to tape the pipes together. They just need to get the right ones!

Thanks guys. They also used PVC for the TPR exit line. I tried it out, and it sprayed all over the place. At least the valve was working.
