View Full Version : Sure there's enough clamps on there?

This is in a brand new condo. I realize the drains need to be steel between levels for fire safety, but why not build the loop with ABS and save 18 clamps? I dunno, I have trouble thinking like a plumber sometiimes.

Probably because the plumber was installing what he was contracted to do - install that island vent (that is what it looks like it is) in cast iron.
And, there are only 9 clamps shown in that photo. :)
Sometimes, I am sure, plumbers have trouble thinking like a home inspector. :p

Jerry, I think some people have a hard time with thinking, period. Who wants to fart around with no-hub anyways.;)

Each union having 2 hose clamps, 9 X 2 = 18. There are 18 redundant clamps and that's either a '49 or a '50 Merc. :) Yes, it is an island vent.
