I've never seen this before, but I assume the copper pipe with valve is a trap primer?
The black pipe just behind the copper is the AC condensate drain.
The valve is off, which is a good thing because it ain't inserted into the larger black pipe that the condensate drain is going into so it would just discharge onto the floor.
It's funny, because around here I keep hearing that the code authorities require trap primers for this and that, mostly commercial, and yet they don't seem to care much about S traps!
