I don't know how it works everywhere else, but here we schedule inspections through Centralized Showing Service (http://www.showings.com/) . The idea is good, but it often does not translate into a good experience.

The place is manned by wackos. Yesterday I called to schedule an inspection for Friday from 8AM to 11AM. I got a call back about 30 minutes later telling me the seller had declined the appointment, as 8PM - 11PM was too late. A few phone calls later I got that straightened out only to receive a confirmation email message from CSS which included this statement:

WTF is a mother to do?:D

ADM: Make sure you don't let the 'loose dogs' ... loose in the backyard. Also, don your waders for the landmines. :eek:

Actually I'm also amused when I get the calls back from CSS with a denial of the inspection date/time. Then there are yet more calls.:(

That was obviously another typo Aaron. They meant to say DATSUN & BEETLE MIX. I believe the fusion of those two cars gave us the AMC Pacer, also known as America's widest small car.

What I like Aaron is you go thru all the BS of calling CSS and then they tell you that all inspections have to be scheduled through the listing agent.

You call the listing agent and they say "Why didn't you call CSS?"

or

You schedule the inspection only to show up ringing the doorbell and the seller comes to the door looking like a deer caught in the headlights saying, "Nobody called me and told me you were coming! Today is not a good day!"

Nothing pisses me off worse.

CSS needs to get with the times. Datsun changed its name to Nissan in the mid '80s. We all remember the Datsun 240Z which is an ancestor of the Nissan Z cars.

Or perhaps they meant the dogs are a "Dachshund & Beagle mix".

I like it when they are adamant that they cannot schedule and inspection for more than 2 hours even when you tell them how to do it.
Really some of the folks there are really nice and helpful, but on occasion I just want to sent AD down there to straighten things out.:eek:

Do not turn on lights, leave thermostat alone, Do not use toilet(s), NO shoes allowed in the home, as seller just had carpets cleaned.
Seller works at night and sleeps between 8am.-4:30pm. Do not disturb or ring doorbell.
