Do you consider this a S-trap?

No
But I don't know if it's vented properly

I don't think I see a single thing right about that picture. I "guess" that's not an S-Trap, IF that pipe coming off the top like that is a vent. I see it going three different ways so I don't really know what's going on with that. All the fittings are wrong. Wrong pipe used. The design may be *slightly* similar to an island sink vent but it's implemented completely wrong and those arrangements are only allowed on island sinks.

thanks, ...this is for a shower drain.
now take a look what's going on at the tub/sink location (2nd photo) and the kitchen (3rd photo)! Plumbing configuration is all wrong here , too!
I'll recommend plumber bring plumbing up to minimum code!
Also, PVC was used in crawlspace , that's a no-no , correct?
Final question: Should the water supply lines be insulated, I'd think they should be in crawlspaces.
thanks so much for your help.

PVC is fine for the drains, waste & vents, but it's not fine to distribute hot OR cold water under the house. CPVC is fine for that.
From what I've seen that house is going to need to be completely repiped.

pvc water pipe in crawlspace bad, all the work done as shown very bad. you must emphasize the positive aspects of the work so as not to slam the hackster. say"he used purple primer" and all the bad stuff will go away! maybe:D

thanks, one last question.
Should the water supply lines , assuming they were CPVC, be insulated in the crawlspace. I think so.

Looks like pressure elbows used where DWV sweeps are required.
Also looks like either vents run down (not good, also not allowed) or drains run up (even worse then vents which run down - not good at all, and not allowed even as much as 'not allowed' ;) ).
That truly looks like a mess in there.
