As time progressed, new materials hit the market. It use to all be wood. Now we have the PVC composite trim that doesn't rot.
There seems to be an "in between" wood and composite trim. I see it on mid 90's homes mainly. It has a rot resistant outer surface. However, the material on the inner portions succumbs to moisture and becomes soft.
What years did this material get used and what is its makeup?
