I guess there must be a little hydroelectric plant in there?

I have come across the same issue twice! Each time the water was coming from a location up hill from the house. The water was traveling down hill and into the conduit and being pushed up and out by pressure.

Rick,

I have liked the Three Stooges as far back as I can remember. I vividly remember seeing 'Cash and Carry' at the theatre in our small town when I was about 4 (that would have been about 1959). This was back when you got a short and a cartoon before the movie.

All the Three Stooges shorts are available on DVD now. I have the first of the set (The Three Stooges Collection - Volume 1 1934 - 1936). Eventually I will buy the entire set.

My girlfriend (like every other woman) does not appreciate the humor of the Three Stooges'. I have decided that men are born with the Three Stooges gene and women are born without it.

Wayne,

Somehow I suspect that sealing that conduit up as is required would not have stopped that, nor was stopping that the intent of that code section. :D

I'll tell you that once you do ever find water in the conduit, it sure does make you look for it from that point on! It really is surprising how many homes I have looked at over the years and I have found water in the conduit or signs of past water/mud entering the box via the conduit.
