HEY ALL

a big spring snow storm here in colorado and not a help to that knee i blew out falling off the roof last week, but getting around. surgery next week, but dam i'm busy.

oh well

1895 home--totally redone, but second floor railing is only 28" high. what is the code and proper height for that. three kids under 10 years old in house

Minimum guardrail heigh for single family is 36".

The California Building Code as of Jan. 1, 2008 requires minimum guard rail height at landings, porches, decks, and balconies more than 30 inches above grade to be 42 inches in vertical height.

Would you clarify the wording shown on the left side:

4" diameter sphere shall not pass (<4.375 diam. sphere within units in Groups R-2 and R-3) ... "within" ... is the word I am interested in. ;)
