Owners Ferret prevented me from accessing the plumbers t shirt, in order to evaluate the repair needed at the vent pipe.

Stopping leaks AND washing clothes at the same time.......that's what I call a win-win situation.

"Yes, I wrapped a rag around the vent pipe to temporarily stop stop the flashing leak from staining the ceiling. The next day I had a license roofer replace the roof. Here's the receipt and a copy of the permit. So what's the problem?".

Torus configured absorbent textile collectors have been installed at primary and secondary locations of the PVC vent pipe's vertical run where it transitions through the attic suggesting cursory on-site repairs by the occupants and requires further inspection/repair of the pipe’s roof penetration by a licensed roofing contractor.

Isn’t that how we would write it up?

Even I got it wrong...

The Iraqi plumber in an attempt to stop the water wrapped a Keffiyeh around the pipe and prayed to Allah to stop the rain.

Not funny.

Why? What if he was Polish or Italian or Puerto Rican? It really wouldn't have worked since they probably don't know how to tie Keffiyehs. Which by the way is what the picture looked like to me.

Wasted strapping on pipe. Remove and replace with upper sock. Lower sock presents as adequate to stop water from minor leak at flashing. Use strap somewhere else. Insulation dry now. No harm done.
