Yesterday's inspection. Outside AC units are sitting a good 8-10 feet from where the suction and return line exit from the house wall. The copper lines turn straight down, go below soil level for 6-8 feet and then exit up from the soil and into the outside units. I know this is not right but do not specifically know why it is not right, other than the lines are not visible for inspection, subject to breakage by being below ground. Any other reasons? Does the codes specifically state these copper lines not be below gound? See photos. A large bush sits between the outside AC units and where the lines exit from the house wall.
