Does anybody call out flame spread density issues with wood paneling installed straight to the studs with no sheetrock underneath? If so, what kind of language do you use, since with houses 30+ years old, it's difficult to know if the paneling adhere's to the code or not. Thanks for the insights! David

There are panels that can be attached directly to studs.

This is on a 30 yr old home and I can't verify if the paneling meets the flame spread criteria for interior finishes. So I'm wondering what everyone does in this situation, any ideas?

The same way you handle any condition you are not sure about. Refer to a specialist for further testing to confirm. Warn about possible hazard

That's what I did, I guess I wanted to get a sense of how many inspectors call it, who do you refer the client to for further testing, etc.
