Neighbors all said they heard a loud popping noise from the home and then the roof was blazing rapidly.

The pics are as I was driving by so they are a bit distorted. The homeowners had just finished building the home.

You can see all the vehicles in the yard as a number of off duty fireman was called in to help.

Probably adequate for the workshop, and to park one of the boats.

Did they at least get the wheels off it first?

Smells like an "Insurance" job to me. Cost over runs etc drive the price out of sight and Oops, accidental fire!

Rejection for the first mtg to pay off the construction bridge loan when called. Lots of "i'd rather blow it up, torch it, dive bomb it with the plane about to be repo'd, strip it, etc. rather than let the bank have it" going on these days. :(

RH,
I saw that on the news last night.
Valued at $3-4 million in Heath, Tx.

No, not actually the case. These folks actually owns a local magazine, and had paid cash for the home as it was being built. More money than god I hear.

Watch the post-mortum on the investigation as to the cause.

Someone will likely come out and say it is due to "electrical".

When it's blowing through the roof like that, we would call it a "defensive attack". Hope no one was hurt.

Word is that this fire is being blamed wiring connections to a chandelier.

Here are some other pics I took afterward.

Interesting juxtaposition in the 1st pic Rick. Fire hydrant in the foreground. Scorched house in the background.

How about the nice pond of water in front of the house in the second picture? My question is why did the fire sprinkler system not function?

Any house of this size in our area has to have a fire sprinkler system.

Hopefully this post isn't too large of a bump, but I found this Youtube video of an aerial view of the fire.

In that video you can see a good amount of the large room and it looks like the home was not finished or it had no or very few furnishings in it.

Scott,

You are correct I believe. The home was in the final stage of being finished out. I know one person told me that they were doing the landscaping on the exterior and then the owners were moving in shortly afterwards.
