Any idea what this is. It was simply bolted to the wall. I was just curios what it may be used for. In a bedrooom condo built in 1983

Seriously, its a mount for a flat panel television.:p

Usually, the drywall around the television area will have numerous openings present where Bubba was trying to fish the cable wiring down the wall and missed 9 times. Wall receptacles behind the television will usually test as a open ground or hot and nuetral reversed also.

I like the TV mounting bracket too, but not a flat screen. It looks like the type previously seen in motels and hospitals prior to flat screens.

I agree, a TV mount for an older TV, we used them in hospitals for years, allows them to pivot 180 degrees.
