Membrane roof terminology

There were several issues with these roof surfaces and I wanted to make sure my terminology was correct (I don't see many of these).

The membrane was installed too tight and has stretched out from the parapet wall areas. Some standing water was present at a couple areas.

Are there other issues that I'm missing?

I'm not sure either of those are issues, but I'm surprised they didn't take the membrane up to underneath the caps, like perhaps they did in the first picture. It looks like they affixed it somehow to the side of the walls.

Note: I've only seen one of these.

Appears that they did not install a 'cant' strip at parapet wall floor juncture, thus the pulling effect and ripples.

From that the one I saw was apparently PVC, since the seams were heat-based.

Fully adhered or mchanically fastened?

I would guess you'd call it mechanically fastened. What they did was took the caps off the top of the walls and ran the material up and over, then reinstalled the caps. It basically just floated over the top of the house, except where the drains and vents were located.

Picture that roof with 2 feet of melting snow on it. Not pretty. [:(]
