Hi guys, anyone have a reference for a cement floor specification?
Small Res Apt building needs a whole new cement floor
Spec in terms of vapor barrier, wire mesh, rebar reinforcement at certain locations, thickness, that sort of thing.
Thanks, Markus

Mr. Keller: Refer to IBC 1802 regarding soil investigations, 1805 for footings and foundation information, and 1807 for dampproofing and waterproofing.
Also ACI 318-08.

Additionally, the ICC's "Concrete Manual" may be of interest to you.

ACI 318, I think that's the one that also has the CMU spec stuff.

Mr. Keller: While 318 does contain some pre-cast information, I think the CMu information you desire is in ACI 530.08 (http://www.scribd.com/doc/16359111/ACI-53008-ACI-530108-Building-Code-Requirements-and-Specification-for-Masonry-Structures-and-Related-Commentaries-) .

Yes, now that you mention it, it was 530. I the doc buried somewhere. Had a case a few years ago involving a CMU job stop work order. Had to buy the doc and do a bunch of research. At the end, the contractor didn't have any money to pay. I took his van in trade for the bill. Still have the van, just dropped it off at the mechanic yesterday for repairs. It's been an Ok van, not great.
