Single family home built in the late 70's early 80's. There was a 200 amp disconnect on the exterior. Is this distribution panel a split bus bar? Not sure, and yes it may be a dumb question.

It looks like a bottom fed single bus to me. Did you see something that made you suspicious?

No, a split bus panel board will have jumpers going to the middle area of the buses. I have only seen split bus panels in the older houses, and they are usually a rat's nest of wiring.
Your panel has 200 amps going to each bus and no jumpers - those buses are not split.
If you saw the double taps and the bad doorbell transformer, we are done for now. :D

It's main lug panel, not a split-bus panel, looks to be a Bryant or Westinghouse panel, the older it is the more likely it is a Bryant.

Rollie, you are correct it's a Westinghouse but with Bryant breakers.
