Garage furnace with an induced draft vent. It is allowed to slope downward? Could not find any installation instructions. Place was built in 07

I don't see those types of units around here.
Is that a condensate stain on the plate beneath the flue pipe?

No way.
The Simpson Dura-Vent instructions I have say that any "horizontal" sections must slope upwards away from the appliance at least 1/4" per foot. I don't think it would say that if you were allowed to vent vertical sections down as shown.

Induced draft is still considered natural draft and must be installed as such. As John said, needs correct slope.

Also, clearance from venting to gas pipe not good, no sediment trap on gas line, clearance of unit to ceiling could be suspect.

Must admit, I have never seen a set up like that! But really looks wrong. Don't think it should ever slope down!
